Travel in and out of 2 focus countries, capturing unique information, photos, and videos about the visa & immigration process, border crossings, airports, and more.

Your 45-day travel schedule will include airfare, hotel stays, visa processing, meal reimbursement, and a competitive salary.

We need you to be a detail-oriented person with a keen sense of curiosity – investigating border crossings and airports to give our readers all the practical information they could possibly need.

IMPORTANT: This position requires that the person selected start immediately (April) and have availability to work for 4-6 weeks.

As a Traveling Journalist, you'll be responsible for:

• Travel the world: Travel to border crossings around the world to gather first-hand information, experiences, and insights.
• Write compelling and concise content: We need writers who answer travelers’ questions in an engaging way without fluffy prose
• Document your experiences: Document the travel visa processing procedures for different countries, capturing the nuances and intricacies unique to each nation, embassy, and travel methods (e.g. planes, trains, etc.).
• Capture compelling visuals: Snap high-quality photos and shoot eye-capturing videos that vividly illustrate the travel experience.
• Interviews: Conduct interviews with travelers, border officials, and other relevant stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives.
• Organize findings: Develop effective methods to organize your findings to be used across teams and throughout the company’s content.
• Stay updated: Stay updated with the latest travel rules, regulations, and trends, ensuring information presented is always accurate and up-to-date.
• Collaborate: Work in partnership with our editorial and marketing teams to optimize content presentation, messaging, and distribution.
  

What will make us choose you?

• Valid passport with at least 2 years before expiration
• We need an independent self-starter, who can problem solve on the fly
• Experience using project management tools and Google docs
• Fluent in English with proficiency in additional languages considered a plus
• Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities
• Proficiency in photography and videography
• Comfortable in front of the camera as you may be asked to record yourself for social media reels and/or videos
• Strong interviewing skills and an ability to connect with diverse individuals
• Familiarity with travel visa processes and international travel regulations
• A deep appreciation for cultural nuances and an insatiable curiosity
• A journalism qualification is a plus, but a proven track record of writing quality content is a must
• A portfolio of the pieces you’re most proud of.
• Ability to manage a budget
