SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN CAMHS OUTPATIENTS
PERMANENT 10 SESSION 8 DCC 2 SPA
(no out of hours or weekend working)
NHS Tayside is seeking to appoint to 1 WTE Specialty Doctor post within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Outpatient service. Applicants may have psychiatry or a neurodevelopmental paediatric background.
Those wishing to work part-time will be considered.
The successful candidate will be working within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team to provide a patient-centred service for children and young people who may have mental health difficulties or a neurodevelopmental disorder.
The main duties associated with these posts will be to provide assessment and management of the whole range of mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties presenting in children aged 6-18 years enrolled in school education, with exact duties being tailored to experience and training. One main aspect of the post will include prescribing and adjusting medication where this is required and supervising nurses working in the monitoring of ADHD medication.
The precise job plan for the new post holder, depending on training, experience and interests can be influenced by wider service developments. Further training can be offered in assessment and treatment of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions.
There is no out-of-hours work associated with this post.
Applicants should have full registration with the General Medical Council and shall have completed at least four years’ full-time post graduate training (or it’s equivalent on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or paediatrics or as a fixed term specialty trainee in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or paediatrics or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
