Research Assistant - Maternity Cover

Qualifications, Competencies and Requirements;

• Diploma in Education, Social sciences, Development studies, health, child protection, M&E level or similar. Bachelors degree in a related filed will be an added advantage 
  
• At least one year’s work experience in research including data collection and cleaning, managing data collection and similar activities.
  
• Excellent writing skills in English.
  
• Excellent planning and organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to multitask.
  
• Able to work independently and pick things up quickly. 
  
• Cultural and organisational sensitivity.
  
• Flexible, pro-active, custom- and result-oriented. 
  
• Must be able to speak both English and Rutooro. Ability to speak Congolese Kiswahili and Kinyabwisha will be an added advantage 
  
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit is a MUST
  

• To act as a liaison between the research team and study population (i.e. school and community leadership, teachers and caregivers)
  
• Support selection, training and supervision of research enumerators 
  
• To support with preparations, mobilisation and logistics
  
• Participate indata collection 
  
• Preparation support for research activities, e.g. research trainings, Kobo 
  
• Support with meeting scheduling and minute-taking 
  
• Liaise with the wider research team attending relevant meetings and workshops.
  
• Support with communications and dissemination activities
  
• Procurement of required research equipment 
  
• Ad hoc support related to research, programme and grant management activities
