PRODUCTION PHARMACIST
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Pharmacist to oversee pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements. The role involves supervising batch production, ensuring line clearance, and driving efficiency across solid oral dosage form processes.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from a recognized university
- Fully registered and licensed Pharmacist in Uganda (in good standing with the regulatory authority)
- Additional certification in GMP, Industrial Pharmacy, or Quality Systems is an added advantage
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Proven experience in solid oral dosage form manufacturing (tablets/capsules) or other commercial-scale production lines
- Demonstrated responsibility in batch manufacturing oversight and line clearance
- Experience handling regulatory inspections (NDA, WHO-GMP, or other international audits)
- Track record of driving production efficiency, minimizing deviations, and improving yields
- Strong practical knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical quality systems
- In-depth understanding of:
- Batch documentation and review
- Deviation management and CAPA implementation
- Change control processes
- Process validation and equipment qualification
- Familiarity with production planning, capacity optimization, and inventory coordination
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and electronic documentation systems is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop production teams
- Strong analytical and root-cause investigation skills
- Results-oriented with high accountability standards
- Ability to make sound technical decisions under operational pressure
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with QA, QC, Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs
- Thinks beyond routine batch production
- Understands manufacturing as a strategic value driver
- Is committed to building systems that meet international standards
- Seeks long-term career growth in pharmaceutical manufacturing leadership
