Job Description
Main Job Functions:
• Drive the compliance of MTN Uganda with regulatory requirements.
• Drive acquisition of key regulatory approvals and resources
• Implement MTN Uganda regulatory and compliance agenda.
• Provide regulatory support to local teams within operations.
• Prepare reports to management, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Manage, develop, and sustain effective working relationships with various stakeholders with a view of advancing company interests.
• Respond to inquiries of a regulatory nature from internal and external stakeholders.
• Carry out any other obligation or duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in law (Honors) from a recognized University
• Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Centre
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Enrolled Advocate of the High Court
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with at least 3 years as an Advocate in a busy Law Firm or having worked as an in-house counsel in reputable organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Must possess exceptional writing skills.
• Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team
• Ability to think strategically and implement plans and strategies to overcome complex business and industry challenges.
• Superior time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be resourceful and take initiative even with minimal direction.
