Our client, MWH foundation is a Ugandan registered trust with several initiatives in Uganda; among them a social enterprise in Pader District in Northern Uganda called “the HUB”. “the HUB” helps smallholders to become food secure and to generate income. It also works with emerging commercial farmers and supports them in building their own family owned commercial farms. “the HUB” focusses on social impact but operates as a professional corporate enterprise.

Reports to: Operations Director
Job Summary: The Manager Agro Development is responsible for achieving an optimal syndicate between seed research, agro input providers and farmers by leading a team of twelve agro support officers on different locations. Specific tasks will include;
Main Tasks:
• Coordinate and manage the Farmers Resource Center, including a commercial farm of 20 acres.
• Build a strongly motivated and efficient team.
This includes recruiting, training, appraising and actively inspiring the agro support officers to achieve results.
• Coordinate and manage the collection of qualitative and quantitative data in existing systems.
• Familiarize the team with new agro practices.
• Provide solid technical backstopping in agriculture.
• Contribute to the further development of our unique approach to agro-extension.
• Periodic reporting to management on both external and internal dynamics affecting agro development.
Key qualifications and experience:
• Bachelors degree in agriculture. Training at post graduate level will be an advantage.
• Experienced in agricultural extension work, preferably from Northern Uganda or in similar places.
• Have a working experience of not less than five years in a similar setting.
• Must demonstrate strong management ability.
• Able to organize activities effectively and efficiently.
• Have affinity with farmers and their aspirations.
• Have excellent computer skills, particularly excel.
• Willing to live and work in Pajule.
• Experience in a business setting and the ability to speak Luo.
