Rainbow International School, Kampala is a 2 – 18 year olds’ co-educational day and boarding school serving a mixture of expatriate and Ugandan families based in Kampala, wider Uganda and the East African region.

We seek some qualified, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to the post of Learning Assistant to work in the Primary and Secondary Learning Support departments that assist children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are looking for individuals who are creative, can motivate and can support students one- on-one.

We are always looking for talented staff as our SEN scope increases.
• Therefore, we are interested in individuals who can support students in either primary or secondary. Our SEN students have gaps in reading, maths & written expression as well as difficulties with retention of information.
• Others have challenges in information processing, social/interpersonal, and fine motor skills.
• In case of a school lockdown, the Learning Assistant will support the child at home to enable him/her to access his/her online lessons in collaboration with the class teacher.

Qualifications
• Experience in working with children is essential.
• Certificate and Diploma holders are encouraged to apply.
• A Diploma or Bachelor of Education and Teaching experience are an added advantage.
• Please note that this is not a Teacher position.

However, in the event that you are one of the successful candidates, the school will allocate you to any of the students, based on your strengths and character as observed during the interview.

Please include the names and contact details of 3 referees (work related/former Headteachers or line managers).
