Nature and Scope

:

Our Head of Early Years will be an energetic, faith-minded, highly motivated and passionate Early Years practitioner. The candidate should be a team player who brings a genuine love of teaching and learning and a commitment to student wellbeing and wider school life. The candidate should be a qualified teacher and have experience of working with the Early Years Foundation curriculum. The successful candidate will show a genuine commitment to creating an inspiring and stimulating child-centred learning environment. Candidates should be committed to ongoing school improvement and feel comfortable in a climate of change and innovative development. This is a rare opportunity to take on the leadership of a key department.

Professional Responsibilities:

As a Classroom Teacher, to: actively promote equality of opportunity within an inclusive and diverse classroommaintain an attractive, dynamic and emotionally safe learning environment work to inspire in all children a desire for success and a passion for learning deliver learning to meet the needs of all groups of learners including those with additional needsmanage behavior with consistency and fairness in line with our school Behaviour Policy, to ensure a safe, ordered atmosphere for all effect regular and efficient formative assessment to inform planning and learning; using data to identify gaps in learning, to inform teaching and, therefore, to maximize pupils’ progress be a proactive member of a Curriculum Team, taking the lead in a subject to inform and monitor curriculum content, standards and resources show a willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the school foster and maintain an efficient and productive relationship between home and school. As a Member of the Admin Team, to: lead by example both in a teaching capacity and through supporting the School’s activities, performances and events promote the vision and aims of the School raise aspirations in standards of teaching and learningensure the effective strategic direction, leadership and management of all aspects of EYFS school organization attend all Leadership meetings in writing and reviewing school policies that meet all statutory guidelinesensure the School is ready to meet and exceed all requirements regarding inspectionwork as a team, contributing ideas and innovationsorganize EYFS team meetings to develop and implement policies, initiatives, discuss samples of work, assessment and record keeping, moderation, etc. Develop and deliver effective and inspirational professional development for staff (including mentoring and coaching as appropriate).support the Head of School/ Leadership in every reasonable way Teaching and Learning demonstrate consistently outstanding teaching skills, managing students and maintaining high standards of behaviour across the EYFS, and act as a role model for all staff play a major role in the development of high quality teaching and learning in the EYFS lead the EYFS team in the development and delivery of a creative and stimulating EYFS curriculum lead the EYFS team in the development and maintenance of a stimulating teaching environment that ensures optimum use of time, space and facilities work with the EYFS team to ensure that the requirements of the EYFS are met, including arrangements for assessment and moderation ensure parents are well informed about the EYFS curriculum, attainment and progress and are fully engaged as partners in the EYFS

Professional Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status Degree in Early Childhood or its equivalent, and have a record of professional development Have experience of leading an Early Years setting To have excellent knowledge of EYFS requirements Demonstrates a respect for diversity of culture, religion, and different Christian traditions Demonstrates an appreciation for the diversity of the body of Christ  Show evidence of recent professional growth Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child development, program evaluation, and research related to AP learning Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing Demonstrate the ability to use technology for word processing, data management and telecommunications Experience of working with children with a range of needs, including those with developmental challenges Evidence of successful classroom practice and behaviour support skills  Previous International School experience a bonus
