Field Assistant

The Initiative of World Education seeks strong candidates for the PEPFAR/USAID-funded Better Outcomes for Children Program across 13 districts in Eastern and Northern Uganda. Better Outcomes will work with families, communities, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), local government and the private sector to address the long-term, comprehensive needs of vulnerable children and families through improved OVC service delivery.

Position: Field Assistant

Locations: Jinja/Gulu

The Field Assistant is a full time position responsible for supporting Better Outcomes for Children and Youth program in Eastern and Northern Uganda. S/he will be responsible for supporting field activities.

Responsibilities 

·         Mobilization & sensitization of community and care givers for meetings

·         Participate in Community outreaches whenever possible.

·         Follow up on OVC cases and referrals (carrying out targeted follow up and monitoring of OVC, and their households)

·         Data collection documentation and presentation, and writing success stories

·         Writing reports on the activities; support technical team in generating information for annual reports

·         Ensuring a proper filing system of all tools and OVC information collected and keep properly updated OVC files

·         Any other support required by the Supervisor.

Requirements 

·         A Degree/ diploma in Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Quantitative Economics

·         Strong skills in team working, networking, facilitation and strategic thinking

·         Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

·         At least 1 years’ experience in community work

·         Knowledge of the local languages will be an added advantage (Lusoga, Acholi,Langi, Lugisu, Adhola)
