About Warc
Our Vision & Missions
At Warc Africa, we envision a future where Africa nourishes the world while its farmers become the stewards of its fertile soils. Our mission is straightforward: to uplift farmers from poverty through regenerative farming practices. We've already positively impacted the lives of more than 100,000 people, increasing their income and improving their livelihoods. Our rapid growth has created thousands of rural jobs and facilitated the movement of tens of thousands of tons of crops to become food for the country.
But we’re just getting started. Our vision extends across sub-Saharan Africa, moving us beyond Ghana and West Africa, where we aim to empower one million farmers, helping them generate hundreds of millions of dollars while becoming climate heroes in the process.
We’ve already laid the foundation and are now looking for passionate individuals to join us on this transformative journey in Uganda!

Our Roots & Reach:
Born from hands-on experience, Warc Africa has grown into a diverse team of 250 full-time employees from 16 countries. In Ghana's Upper West Region, we serve 30,000 farmers, have a footprint in Sierra Leone, a new venture in Uganda, and our eyes across the continent. Our 100 female-run Trading Hubs put us closer to the farmer than anyone else - allowing us to provide farmers with vital resources and markets. We’re now ready to solve problems for Farmers in Uganda and transform the way they are served. Therefore, we are now looking for a highly motivated and experienced person to join our Team.

About the Job
The Farmer Connector is a field-based role at the heart of Warc Group Africa's aggregation model. You will be the primary point of contact between Warc and the farming communities we serve, responsible for building trusted relationships with smallholder and large-scale farmers ahead of each season. Your core focus is to engage farmers early, secure pre-season selling commitments, and ensure a reliable and fairly priced supply of maize and other commodities into Warc's network of Hubs.

Working closely with the Engagement and Aggregation Lead and Operations Team, you will manage the full farmer journey from first contact through to purchase, quality verification, and commodity movement. You are Warc's presence in the community — 365 days a year — and play a critical role in delivering on our promise of fair pricing, reliable payment, and genuine market access for farmers.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Farmer & Community Engagement
• Build and maintain relationships with farmers, traders, cooperatives, and other value chain actors in your area.
• Clearly communicate Warc’s value proposition and operating model to secure early seasonal commitments from farmers.
• Register farmers accurately to enable effective planning of buying and threshing operations.
• Collect and report farmer feedback and market insights to continuously improve engagement and purchasing strategies.
• Identify and flag gaps in day-to-day buying and threshing operations at the farm level.

2. Commodity Purchasing & Target Achievement
• Purchase maize and other commodities directly from farmers, cooperatives, and traders in line with Warc’s sourcing and pricing policies.
• Verify product quality, weights, and pricing at the point of purchase.
• Ensure all purchases are accurately recorded and reconciled with inventory and financial systems.
• Coordinate the buying and threshing plan in collaboration with the Operations Team.
• Work with the Aggregation Lead to set and achieve purchase and sales targets, tracking transaction accuracy and maintaining complete documentation of purchases, quantities, and inventory.
• Support the timely movement of purchased commodities from farm to Warc facilities.

3. Market Intelligence & Expansion
• Monitor local market trends, competitor activity, and farmer needs.
• Support expansion into new areas and the setup of new hubs as needed.

4. Reporting & Communication
• Submit daily reports to the Aggregation Lead covering purchases, sales, and farmer data.
• Share field insights on market conditions, farmer feedback, and local challenges.
• Participate in planning meetings, field reviews, and training sessions.

5. Logistics Support
• Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure the timely collection and transportation of purchased commodities from farms to collection points or warehouses.

About you
Qualifications  and Requirements for the Farmer Connector:
• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Rural Development, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in agricultural sales, commodity aggregation, or rural marketing.
• Strong knowledge of smallholder and large-scale farming systems.
• Proven experience in negotiation, field relationship management, and community mobilization.
• Financial literacy and understanding of sales transactions, pricing, and reconciliations.
• Digital literacy — proficient in using smartphones, tablets, and sales/ERP tools for data entry and reporting.
• Excellent field supervision, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and accountability in handling cash and inventory.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work in rural or semi-urban settings.
• Possession of a valid motorcycle license (or willingness to obtain one).
