Role Overview
We are seeking a Design Coordination Lead to oversee design coordination, BIM integration, and multidisciplinary collaboration across all projects. The role ensures that all design outputs are well-coordinated, constructible, climate-responsive, and compliant with Uganda’s regulatory frameworks, including those of the National Building Review Board (NBRB).
Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination Leadership
- Lead coordination of architectural and engineering design deliverables
- Ensure consistency of design intent across all project stages
- Review and align multidisciplinary inputs into coordinated outputs
- Enforce climate-responsive and constructible design principles
BIM Coordination & Digital Delivery
- Lead Revit-based BIM coordination across disciplines
- Manage model integration and clash detection processes
- Maintain data integrity, model standards, and coordination protocols
- Enforce BIM execution standards across projects
Statutory Approvals (NBRB)
- Coordinate submission processes for approvals and permits
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
Quality Assurance & Constructability
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, models, and documentation
- Ensure design outputs are practical, coordinated, and buildable
Construction Phase Support
- Respond to RFIs and technical queries from site teams
- Support resolution of design and coordination issues during construction
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture OR Civil Engineering with a Diploma in Architecture
- Equivalent qualifications with strong design and BIM coordination experience will be considered
Experience
- Proven experience in design coordination, BIM workflows, and multidisciplinary project delivery
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and regulatory approval processes
Software Proficiency
- Autodesk Revit (Advanced)
- AutoCAD / ArchiCAD
- Lumion, Twinmotion, or similar rendering tools
