DENTIST

• Meeting with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and establishing a plan for better dental hygiene.

• Performing dental procedures and establishing a plan for better dental hygiene.
• Correcting bite issues and overcrowding.
• Applying helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants or whiteners
• Prescribing medication for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics
• Giving clients sedatives or anesthesia before administering treatments
• Ordering diagnostic measures such as X-rays, etc.
• Using tools such as drills, probes, brushes, or mirrors to examine and treat teeth and the mouth.
• Keeping records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them.
• Managing and communicating with other staff members to provide care to patients
• Ensure the dental equipment is in good condition.
• Maintain dental supplies inventory and make requests for replenishment promptly.
• Organizing workloads in a prioritizing manner.
• Providing emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Attend general and ward meetings as scheduled by the management.
• Attend Continuous Medical Education.
• Flexible to be rotated to all departments for the good of the patients.
• Take detailed health care histories.
• Ensure stock levels are monitored and maintained
• Listen to patients and analyze their physical and emotional needs, and act in the best interest of the patient.
• Provide counseling and health care education to patients
• Coordinate care with other health care providers and specialists
• Stay current with advances in health care options, medications, and treatment plans.
• Conduct physical exams and patient assessment.
• Liaising with other medical and non-medical staff in the hospital to ensure quality patient care
• Relate to patients without any form of discrimination.
• Ensure that the health care record for the patient is a legible and accurate account providing clear evidence of the care planned, the decisions made, treatment given, the care delivered, and the information shared.  This includes both written and electronic records.
• Ensure that, when you delegate care delivery to others who are not clinical officers, the needs of patients are met. You remain accountable for the appropriateness of the delegation, for ensuring that the person who does the work can do it, and that you adequately supervise and support them.
• Deliver care based on current evidence and best practice.
• Know the limits of your professional competence and only undertake duties for which you have been trained and are competent to carry out. You need to show good judgment about seeking help and advice.
• Act to identify, minimize, and report any risk to patients from any source.
• Use every moment of your shift for the benefit of patients or, when time allows, to develop your own skills and those of others.
• Perform any other duties as may be required and designated
