Civic Growth Intern
Civic Growth Interns at YIP contribute to the Institute's mission to foster cross-sector civic change among the youth population. The Center for Civic Growth serves as the hub for civic impact at the Institute, connecting current staff and fellows to the real world. The PIVOT Center is also housed here at YIP, a place where youth can explore new policy interests and inform the public through the creation of impactful media. Civic Growth Interns will be assigned to support alumni relations efforts, partnerships, PIVOT endeavors, and special projects.

Position Title and Description
Civic Growth Interns at YIP contribute to the Institute's mission to foster cross-sector civic change among the youth population. Special Projects: supporting fellows as they build out their Fellowship Capstone project under the YIP umbrella (providing feedback, logical support, and help with implementing their capstones in real life)
Partnerships: working within the Special Projects team to grow YIPs impact by connecting current projects and initiatives with outside organizations

Interns in the Education Department work collaboratively to design and implement content that challenges the status quo of civics education, while also backing that content with thorough, quantitative and qualitative research. Interns will have the option of joining one of five teams: Content, Communications, Strategy (housed within our Development & Advocacy sub-department), Research, or Data Analytics (housed within our Research & Analytics sub-department).

Policy Analyst Intern
Policy Analyst Interns contribute to a wide range of projects that support the research, publication, outreach, and communications work of the Policy Department. Interns may be assigned to one or more of the following focus areas: editing journal submissions, writing or editing policy briefs, editing Op-Eds for the YIP website, or conducting outreach to academic and public audiences. The work for this position may include long-form editing, external outreach, research, or media polishing, depending on the needs of the department and the intern’s strengths.

Marketing Video Editor
Interns who could edit raw footage videos into podcast episodes, preferably looking for individuals who are familiar with editing software and can edit intro/outro portions of content. Also, it is preferred if individuals have experience creating short form content such as reels or TikToks (45-90 secs), adding captions, sound effects, cropping videos or enhancing the resolution.
