To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced business development and operations manager to oversee daily activities. The ideal candidate should have a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity. Must be highly skilled in business development, human resources, finance, and IT management. Additionally, he/she must display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within the team. His/her ultimate responsibility is to increase the overall operational efficiency of the company.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
• Reporting to the Regional Head-Business Development and Operations, you will be responsible for:
• Representing Baobab Circle in Uganda to multiple stakeholders including clients, suppliers, regulators, partners, etc.
• Ensuring successful team leadership, client acquisition, project implementation and operational efficiency.
• Managing the budget and P&L driving the Uganda market to profitability and financial sustainability. Operationalizing all strategic initiatives, supporting product development team, conducting product and market research to ensure the businesses more efficient, profitable and sustainable
• Establishing a solid customer base and pro-actively engaging in ongoing business development activities to build and maintain strong relationships with both existing clients and prospects to enhance client retention, enable cross selling and up-selling, and create new sales opportunities
• Drafting business proposals, making presentations and negotiating contracts with prospective clients.
• Developing, implementing, maintaining and operationalizing processes and quality assurance protocols as well grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A holder of a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience in leading business development, project management and operations. A medical degree is an added advantage.
• Strong sales, proposal writing and negotiation skills; ability to close contracts.
• Proficiency in technology skills and working knowledge of general business software.
• Multiple years in financial and account reporting
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Working experience in the telemedicine industry an added advantage.
