Role Summary
PHL Naturals is seeking an experienced, hands-on Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial records, reconciliations, inventory tracking, and monthly reporting. This role requires ownership, speed, and accuracy. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, ask clarifying questions proactively, and deliver clean accounts with minimal oversight.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
● Minimum 2 years of solid, practical bookkeeping experience (day-to-day posting, reconciliations, inventory, reporting)
● Willingness to relocate to Entebbe (this is not a remote role)
● Ability to work with very minimal supervision
● Proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail
● Fast learner who can pick up systems and processes quickly
● Comfortable being held to clear deadlines and performance standards

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Records
● Record all daily financial transactions accurately and on time
● Maintain well-classified ledgers for sales, expenses, assets, and liabilities
● Ensure correct posting of sales, expenses, payments, and transfers
Reconciliations
● Reconcile bank accounts, mobile money, and card payments
● Reconcile inventory, receivables, payables, and petty cash
● Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and proactively
Inventory & Cost Tracking
● Maintain accurate stock-in / stock-out records
● Track cost of goods sold (COGS)
● Reconcile system stock with physical counts
Payroll & Expenses
● Track salaries, commissions, staff advances, and reimbursements
● Prepare payroll summaries for management approval
Monthly Reporting
● Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements
● Prepare cash flow summaries
● Submit reports by agreed deadlines
Compliance Support
● Maintain clean documentation for audits and tax filings
● Work closely with external accountants
● Ensure smooth and complete handovers
Skills & Experience
● Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
● Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills (mandatory)
● Strong reconciliation skills (mandatory)
● Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented
● Comfortable asking questions and flagging issues early
● High sense of accountability and ownership
Compensation & Benefits
● Net Salary: UGX 500,000 – 700,000 (depending on experience)
