Lecturer

Pay Rate:             CUK 8

Job Purpose:

This is a full time position where a suitable candidate must be able to teach at least two of the following disciplines: Public Budgeting, Financial Administration, Disaster Management, Local Governance and Decentralization, Administration of rural development, Urban Management,

Ethics in Public Administration, International Political Economy, Management Consultancy, Strategic Management & Land use and Physical Planning.

Responsibilities

• Teaching normal workload i.e. between 18 to 21 hours per semester.
• Prepare Course outlines for all courses taught according to the University curriculum.
• Prepare assessment tools and marking guides accordingly.
• Maintenance of regular office hours for attending to students’ queries.
• Participation in regular academic and administrative meetings.
• To chair and participate in ad hoc or volunteer committees from time to time.
• Supervising student's on placements, internships, research papers and projects.
• Mentoring and advising students on academic issues.
• Any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Preferred Skills: Qualifications and experience

• Must hold a Masters’ degree in Public Administration and Management.
• Should have at least 3 years of experience in teaching and supervising research for both undergraduates and postgraduate students in an institution of higher learning.
• Must have at least one publications/research project.
• Must be a mature and committed Christian.
