Security Officer

Chromatic Paints (U) Ltd, incorporated in 2009, manufactures a range of high-quality paints for both construction and automotive industries.

We are seeking suitable candidates to fill the following open position in a busy and dynamic work environment.

Reports to: Human Resource & Administration Manager

Duty Station: Namanve, Kampala.

Job Summary:

The Security Officer is in charge of the management of all security aspects at the company’s premises through effective deployment and supervision of security staff within the ambit of the security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Develop and continuously update the Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in conformity with other departments’ work instructions, sensitize security staff and monitor compliance.
2. Conduct thorough investigations of all incidents or security failures and propose recommendations for corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
3. Control access to the factory and offices and maintain order.
4. Enforce security guidelines in relation to receipt of raw materials and release of finished goods.
5. Conduct fire evacuation and emergency response drill rehearsals to ensure adequate preparation in case of emergencies.
6. Conduct risk assessment and mitigate potential security risks.
7. Directly supervise Security agency and ensure efficient deployment and supervision.
8. Participate in relevant security forums for regular insight into security management best practices and maintain continuing lines of communication with law enforcement agencies.
9. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, International Relations, Criminology, Forensic Psychology, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field.
• At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of corporate security or Law enforcement preferably in manufacturing entity will be an added advantage.

• Investigative skills; Report writing skills; Surveillance and observation skills; Physically fit with high stamina, Conversant with MS Word.
