Security Coordinator in Uganda

Role overview

ACK3, a leading global security solutions company, is seeking a highly qualified Security Coordinator to join our team in Uganda. This role focuses on ensuring the physical and operational security of our projects, including support for ProFuturo initiatives, in an environment that demands effective risk management and quick, professional responses to potential threats.

Main Responsibilities

• Supervise physical security: Coordinate on-the-ground security for teams, ensuring protection during transit and stay within the country.
• Manage security personnel: Oversee and manage local security staff, including armed drivers and escorts.
• Risk assessment: Conduct initial and ongoing risk assessments in operational areas to anticipate and mitigate potential threats.
• Implement security protocols: Apply security standards such as Fisher protocols, adjusting security levels (low or high profile) based on risk conditions.
• Coordinate with PMO: Collaborate with the ACK3 Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure activities are conducted in line with protocols and that performance indicators (KPIs) are met. We have a 24/7 SOC in Europe for central support and coordination of operations.
• On-the-Ground Intelligence (HuMInt): Gather and analyze relevant field intelligence to adjust and improve security in real time.
• Reporting and documentation: Prepare detailed reports on security activities, incidents, and measures taken, maintaining constant communication with the management team.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience in Physical Security and Security Team Management in high- or moderate-risk countries, preferably in East Africa.
• Security certifications: Formal training in security and protection (international certifications are a plus).
• Risk assessment skills: Proven experience in risk analysis and protocol implementation.
• Knowledge of On-the-Ground Intelligence (HuMInt): Proficiency in gathering and applying human intelligence in security contexts.
• Strong communication skills: Proficiency in English and the ability to communicate effectively in intercultural settings.
• Flexibility and adaptability: Willingness to travel and adapt to changing conditions.
