Position Designation: Sales Officer – Arua 

Function: Sales 

Location: Arua 

Country: Uganda 

Reports to (designation): Branch Manager 


Main purpose of the position: 

The sales officer will work to improve on the sales volumes, identify sales leads, improving on the market coverage, pitch goods or services to new clients, and maintain a good  working relationship with both new and old clients. 


Reporting in to this position (designation and level) 

a. Routine/ Functional/ Direct: 


Key responsibilities: 

  • Area development through stockist network pertaining to dealers and second-level retailers to promote all company products in the Northern Region of Uganda. 
  • Ensuring achievement of product-wise, value-wise, and monthly targets. 
  • Ensuring product premium over the nearest competition by establishing product attribution of UBL  products all profiles much emphasis to color profiles. 
  • Ensuring tight controls on collection and data days achieving the monthly collection targets. ∙ Ensuring effective sales promotion activities like retail meet, fundi meet, display at retail places, and other related sales & marketing activities. 
  • Identification and development of new customers and areas from which expected new business is can be generated. 
  • Effective market coverage with minimum expected visit plan, monitoring of competitors' activities, prices, and other information as and when required. 
  • Collection of project information of the surrounding areas and passing on the information to the head office for further inputs to close the business. 
  • Monitoring stock levels of the distributors as well as for the competitors. 
  • Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects and recommending solutions.
  • Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements. 

Compliance 

  • Compliance to SOPS and closure of identified risk areas 
  • Inventory Management by reducing non-moving stock and managing stock days 

Budget 

  • To meet Sales, Price Realisation, Collection and Market Growth Targets as per the approved  Monthly and Annual Budget 
  • Tight control on expenses within budget. 

Procurement responsibility 

  • Procurement of items (specific to the role) as approved in line with the budget Working conditions 
  • Good working environment with less ergonomic Risk 

Qualifications required: 

  • Minimum academic qualification: A degree in any business course.  
  • Qualifications as an added advantage: Masters in Business Administration
  • General work experience (years): A minimum of 5 years’ preferably in a Manufacturing  Industry, steel industry is an added advantage

  • Meeting sales goals by monitoring progress.
