The regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing existing customer relationships and developing new customer sales to facilitate the growth and profitability of the western region.

Location: Western Region 

Reports to (designation): Sales Manager- Distribution Sales 


Main purpose of the position: 

The regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing existing customer relationships and developing new customer sales to facilitate the growth and profitability of the western region. 


Reporting into this position (designation and level) 

Routine/Direct: sales officers. 

Functional/Indirect: Customer Service Executives. 


Key responsibilities: 

  • Achieve total sales volume - Devise Sales strategies with the goal of increasing points of distribution, shelf space, product positioning, consumer awareness, trial, conversion, and ultimately user acquisition. 
  • Achieve budgeted Contributions 
  • Debt Management- Periodically collect revenue and review the Credit Limits extended to  Customers and suggest necessary changes based on the track records of the Customers  and propose Credit Limits for new Customers to ensure that customers’ accounts remain active and up-to-date and financial exposure of the Customers always remain within the  approved Credit Limits 
  • To keep track of new Products and Development in the Metal Roofing and Allied  Building Products and work out possibilities of introducing such products in the Market  ⮚ To keep track of feedback received from the Customers in respect of timely supplies;  quality; and issues and coordinate with respective departmental heads for improvements  and timely resolutions of issues 
  • To keep track of market trends (including the movements in Global Markets) and to  prepare Plans / Strategies for taking corrective actions  
  • Overall responsibility for maintaining relationships with the Division's existing customer base, including developing strategies for customer management negotiating pricing and other issues. 
  • Responsible for developing new business with existing customers and new customers,  including working with outside sales force to identify and penetrate customers within central regions defined market strategy. 
  • Provide sales forecast and marketing development information for division business  planning and long term strategic planning activities
  • Regular travel to existing customers and prospects is required as may be approved by your supervisor. 
  • Plan, organize and execute sales strategies and territory plans. 
  • Work collaboratively with Trade Marketing to increase awareness and positioning at  Retail 

Compliance 

  • Compliance to SOPS and closure of identified risk areas 
  • Inventory Management by reducing non-moving stock and managing stock days 

Budget 

  • Meeting Sales, Price Realisation, Collection, and Market Growth Targets as per the approved  Monthly and Annual Budget 

Procurement responsibility 

  • Procurement of items (specific to the role) as approved in line with the budget 

Working conditions: 

  • Good working environment with less ergonomic Risk 

Qualifications required: 

  • Minimum academic qualification: A degree-level qualification.  
  • Qualifications as an added advantage: Masters in Business Administration ⮚ General work experience (years): A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a senior  management position 
  • Industry: Good knowledge of either the Manufacturing/ steel/ cement/ paint or solar  Industry is an added advantage
