Job Summary: The receptionist is responsible for providing support for day-to-day administrative functions and general office management.
Standard Job Descriptions
- Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
- Coordinate front-desk activities such as answering, screening, and transferring calls and escalating queries and complaints where necessary.
- Manage office supplies such as stationery, equipment, and furniture.
- Maintain the flow of services from the various services providers of the company.
- Receive and dispatch deliveries/mail.
- Assist the HR team with recruitment.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
- Supervise and assist the office attendant and caretaker where necessary.
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
- Update calendars and schedule meetings as requested.
- Compile and keep updated records of office expenses and costs.
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, printing, and photocopying.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications and skills
- Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Humanities, or related field.
- Candidates who have previous clerical, administrative or receptionist experience.
- Basic computer knowledge with good knowledge of Google suite and MS applications.
- Languages: Excellent communication skills in English and Runyankole required. Any other local language would be an asset.
- Organizational skills.

- Strong customer service skills with a pleasant personality.
