About This Job:

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client Microhaem Scientifics and Medical Supplies Ltd ( MHS), we are looking for a competent , skilled, and experienced Supply Chain Manager to work in Uganda.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Supply Chain Manager in the Medical Devices Manufacturing Industry, you will play a critical role in overseeing the Procurement Process, Warehousing and Logistics Departments, Production, Distribution of finished goods, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards. You will oversee various aspects of the supply chain, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, manage inventory, and uphold product quality and availability. Your strategic thinking, leadership skills, and attention to detail will be crucial in contributing to the success of the companyâs operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supply Chain Strategy:

Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall supply chain performance.

Demand Forecasting and Planning:

Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to develop accurate demand forecasts. Plan procurement, manufacturing, and distribution activities to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory.

Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations. Implement inventory control measures to minimize carrying costs and reduce obsolete stock.

Supplier and Vendor Management:

Identify and participate in vendor qualification processes, negotiating terms and contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and components. Build strong relationships with suppliers and manage their performance to ensure consistent quality and timely deliveries.

Production Coordination:

Collaborate with the production team to provide the necessary data on the required stock for production to make decision.

Distribution and Logistics:

Manage transportation and distribution activities to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers and distribution centers. Optimize logistics processes, including selection of couriers, routing, and mode of transportation.

Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:

Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure products distributed meet regulatory standards and quality specifications. Implement and maintain compliance with relevant industry regulations and guidelines.

Risk Management:

Identify potential supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions. Establish contingency plans to address unforeseen events that could impact the supply chain.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor a team of Procurement Officers, Logistics and Warehouse, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering collaboration. Conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for skill development. Compliance Ensuring the team complies to the industry policies and applicable company policies and procedures. Reporting Prepare periodic reports and present to Management the performance of the Warehouse department, procurement, distribution and Logistics.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelorâs Degree in procurement, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Masterâs degree is a plus. Eight years of relevant experience in the Medical Devices Manufacturing Industry, pharmaceutical, food or related fields where GMP is emphasized. Strong understanding of Medical Devices Standards, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and quality assurance principles. Proficiency in supply chain planning tools, ERP systems, SAP, and data analysis. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
