Objective:
To assist TopUp Academy in writing high-quality proposals that win clients and contribute to business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the team in drafting initial technical and financial proposals.
- Conduct research to understand client needs, industry trends, and the services we offer.
- Collaborate with team members to clarify proposal requirements and objectives.
- Write clear, concise, and compelling proposals, including executive summaries, case studies, and technical descriptions.
- Ensure all proposals meet client requirements, are well-structured, and free of errors.
- Adhere to deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Committed students looking for part-time opportunities are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in research, data collection, proposal development or technical writing.
- Previous exposure in the non-profit sector, private sector contracts, or with international organizations is advantageous.
Writing Skills:
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive content.
- Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Ability to tailor writing style for various audiences, including funders, government agencies, and the private sector.
Research and Analytical Skills:
- Ability to conduct thorough research to gather data relevant to the proposal.
- Skilled in understanding and analysing procurement guidelines, policies, and requirements.
- Proficient in performing needs assessments to align proposals with funder goals.
Organizational and Time Management Skills:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Experience/willingness to work under pressure to meet tight submission deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to track progress, feedback, and required changes to proposals.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal teams (e.g., program managers, finance teams, technical experts).
- Effective communication with stakeholders and funders to clarify needs and requirements.
- Flexibility in receiving and incorporating feedback from stakeholders and reviewers.
Technical Competence:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with project life cycle.
Additional Competencies:
- Understanding of non-profit, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or government procurement or willingness to learn about these spaces.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial planning related to proposal submissions.
- Knowledge of funding trends, donor expectations, and sustainability plans is an advantage.
