Job Description/Requirements

NIFAED is an NGO) Non-Governmental Organization with the objective of empowering communities to participate and take lead in their development processes for sustainable development through the use and promotion of the Reflection ACTION PROCESSES. NIFAED provides services in Mubende Region with the Support of Mild May Uganda and aims at implementing the DREAMS project with the goal of reducing the incidence of new HIV cases among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 9-24 years.

Job Title: Project Officer

Duty Station: Mubende

Job Responsibilities

  • To plan manage execute and monitor all project activities.
  • Ensure strict and timely compilation and maintenance of project reports and records.
  • Monitor and report on the rapidly changing environment and actively contribute to NIFAED strategic plan, design, and implementation.
  • Identify potential communities with the consultation of politics.
  • Administration and address their demands accordingly to programme policy.
  • In conjunction with another program, staff evaluates completed projects.
  • Maintain appropriate data on project implementation as per the project monitoring and evaluation plan by ensuring data entry and validation in all data tools including the UDOTS.
  • Conduct support supervision and monitoring of AGYW who are receiving education support in terms of attendance and performance per each sub-county.
  • Formation of new groups to receive stepping stones and VSLA services.
  • Re-mobilization and Organization of old DREAMS groups to receive the stepping stones and VSLA Packages.
  • Conduct support supervision and monitoring of AGYW Groups undertaking stepping stones sessions are involved in VSLA Packages.
  • Conduct support supervision and monitoring of AGYW Groups undertaking stepping stones sessions involved in VSLA per each sub-county.
  • Training AGYW groups in VSLA.
  • Ensuring that all groups in each sub-county receive the VSLA and stepping stones packages.
  • Compilation and submission of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports when necessary.
  • Make weekly and monthly work plans.
  • Sensitization of AGYW at safe spaces.
  • Provide continuous re-orientation, mentoring and training to CBFs on topical (VSLA and training to CBFs on topical (VSLA and stepping stones) areas relevant to project implantation for each.
  • Ensure that NIFAED’s Image, vision, and core values are adhered to, well communicated, and protected throughout the implementation of project activities.
  • Carry out any other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned by management.

Job qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, social science, and related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Must be spontaneous and willing to work in the outskirts
  • Experience in and knowledge of Ugandan local governance engagement strongly preferred
  • Ability to ride or drive with a valid driving permit is an added advantage.


Job Title: Finance Officer

Duty Station: Mubende

Job qualifications and experience

  • Degree or Diploma in accounting or financial management, business studies/Administration with Accounting or financial management as a subject obtained from a recognized awarding institution. 
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in accounting and finance
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to maintain good working relations with various stakeholders

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to track project expenses and prepare monthly financial reports and annual budget projections to ensure full compliance in accordance with CDC and PEPFAR rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate with relevant staff and clear documents provided for payment before processing.
  • Prepare any other duties given by the line manager when needed.
  • Prepare the monthly payroll and undertake monthly closing procedures including reconciliation of bank, petty cash and advances in financial coordinator’s absence.
  • Any other task that may be assigned by the director of finance and administration.
  • Manage financial controls, analyze office and project budgets and make recommendations on budget expenditures, and monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.
  • Ensure compliance of financial policies and procedures as per donor requirements.
  • Manage project procurement process.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to NIFAED DONORS – manage and liaise with internal and external auditors in review of project financial and administration practices and records.
  •  Provide advice and guidance to all the staff on compliance to generally accept accounting principles and other donor regulations.
  • Managing the projects finance and administrative systems for budgeting, financial monitoring and reporting, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Prepare payment vouchers for completeness and accuracy of all expenses by projects.
  • Manage all bookkeeping, bank accounts and cash flows.
  • Processing monthly payroll.
  • Preparation of annual budgets for submission to partners.
  • General office administration.
  • Develop and implementation of relevant policies and procedures in consultation with the FM and the board.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and professional integrity is upheld at all times
  • Being flexible, adaptable and available to take on other tasks or duties as requested by the FM.


Job Title: Social Worker

Duty Station: Mubende

Job Summary: To support the implementation of the DREAMS Project through mobilization and planning within Mubende District as per the guidelines. The Social Worker will work with the Project Officer and other Community structures to ensure the quality delivery of DREAMS goals and objectives.

Job qualifications and experience

  • Degree or Diploma in the social sciences or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in DREAMS packages
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to maintain good working relations with various stakeholders
  • Ability to ride with a valid Permit is an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan for operational field activities in the respective program areas within the sub-county.
  • Ensure enrollment of AGYW at the safe space and that each beneficiary receives all the appropriate DREAMS interventions
  • Provide counseling services to AGYW at safe spaces who are eligible for DREAMS services
  • Supervise sub-county coordinators, Artisans, and girl mentors at the safe space 
  • Carry out home visits of AGYW to create rapport
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders or community structures for effective planning and implementation of DREAMS activities
  • Manage resources, and information and assist with scheduling, and planning meetings and project activities
  • Develop  weekly and monthly work plans to show how DREAMS activities will be implemented in the sub-county
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity reports 
  • Plan and coordinate services layering  in the sub-county with the support of the supervisor and prepare reports on the services layered as well as maintaining minutes for meetings held
  • Represent NIFAED in the Sub county forums as may be delegated
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned


Job Title: ICT teacher

Duty Station: Mubende

JOB SUMMARY: We are searching for an enthusiastic computer teacher to promote computer literacy among our target group (AGYWS). To ensure success, as a computer teacher, you should demonstrate flexibility and support as you help the AGYWS develop confidence and will also make a concerted effort to acclimatize students with no prior exposure to computer.

Qualifications, skills, and experience.

  • Minimum diploma in ICT
  • 6 months and above working experience
  • Planning lessons and activities that facilitate students’ acquisition of basic and advanced computer skills.
  • Tracking and communicating students’ advancement throughout the course.
  • Teamwork, basic computer maintenance, leadership skills ability to coordinate, email and internet, team leadership, communication problem solving.
