Responsibilities
- Monitor usage and regulate water flow in all areas of the University toensure constant availability of water.
- Take meter reading and maintains records of water and sewerage bills.
- Inspect plumbing systems and diagnose issues to determine appropriate solutions.
- Carry out installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems including pipes, fixers, fittings, and appliances.
- Inspects periodically all water disposals on the line and sewer lines and advises the Senior Assistant Engineering Officer on regular servicing.
- Assist in the supervision of new installation of plumbing systems.
- Educate the users on proper usage and care of plumbing system.
- Prepare costing and technical specifications for required plumbing tools and material schedules.
- Carry out curative and preventive maintenance of water back up equipment like submersible pumps in collaboration with the electrical technicians.
- Reports on any major water and sanitation issues to the Senior Assistant Engineering Officer.
- Carries out other duties as may be assigned, and provide professional and community services.
Requirements
- Should hold a Credit Advance Craft certificate or National Certificate inPlumbing from a recognized institution.
- Should possess a certificate of trade test.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in a reputable organization.
- Should have high integrity.
- Demonstrated Computer skills.
- The applicant should be below the age of 55 years at the time of application.
