Job Purpose 

Ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, profitability, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.


Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations to deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and improve the overall performance of the restaurant on a regular basis including cost analysis and monitoring of processes.
  • Review menus with chefs to ensure food quality standards are being met.
  • Maintain optimal level of sanitary procedures for all food handling and maintain neat and clean kitchen area and ensure optimal quality of all food preparation and ensure compliance to all standards.
  • Oversee and supervise shifts to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours without overstaffing during slow times.
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Actively monitor all costs and recommend measures to control them.
  • Ensure compliance with all security procedures and design strategies to protect all employees and customers.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to determine event schedules and other logistics such as food and beverage requirements.
  • Oversee and manage outside catering services and facilities to ensure quality service delivery to customers.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation to enable the business to run safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends in the hospitality industry, understand forthcoming customer initiatives and monitor what local competitors are doing.
  • Manage production planning, forecasting, purchasing, and stock control.
  • Carry out appraisal and performance reviews, as well as provide or organize training and development programs.
  • Ensure that there is continuous training for all service staff on the standard operating procedures.
  • Implement company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with procedures by all staff.
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices such as handling complaints about food or service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
  • Manage the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Manage monthly and yearly inventory of operating equipment. 
  • Attend and chair staff meetings.
  • Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives, and other relevant issues.
  • Manage and ensure the cleanliness of all facilities; including washrooms, restaurant, and work environment. 
  • Any other duty may be assigned within your scope of work.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality management  or related field, 
  • 5+ years of operations experience with 2 years at the supervisory level.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Refined ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training to key personnel
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision-making, and excellent coordination skills.
  • Effective planning, project management, and organizing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and external suppliers and customers
  • Willing to put in the hours as and when required
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Change orientated to make business improvements.
