Nursery Teacher

 Location: Mbarara

Reports To: Head Teacher

Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement engaging daily activities that promote early learning in literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and social-emotional development.
• Use play-based and interactive learning strategies aligned with early childhood education best practices.
• Create and maintain a warm, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages  exploration and curiosity.
• Observe and assess children’s development and keep accurate records of progress.
• Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
• Promote positive behavior through clear expectations and consistent routines.
• Ensure the health, hygiene, and safety of children at all times.
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings, training sessions, and school events.
• Collaborate with other nursery staff and support assistants.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of a Certificate in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or Nursery Teaching.
• Training in child psychology or Montessori is an added advantage.
• At least 1–2 years’ experience teaching in a nursery or early childhood setting.
