Job Description/Requirements

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Modern Trade Executive to join our team in the food and confectionery business. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience managing key accounts in Modern Trade channels, particularly with multinational brands in the food and confectionery sector. Responsibilities include building relationships with major retail chains, driving sales growth across Class A, B, and C outlets, and executing trade marketing activities effectively.


The position is based in Tanzania or Uganda and is open to East African nationals.



Qualifications:


Minimum 3 years in Modern Trade Sales and Key Account Management with Multinational Brands in the food and confectionery industry, demonstrating a strong track record in driving growth and managing key accounts.


Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM systems. 

Account Management & Relationships: Build and manage relationships with retail chains, hypermarkets, and modern trade outlets to drive growth. Serve as the main contact for accounts, managing contracts and promotions.


Sales & Business Development: Achieve sales targets, drive growth through strategic planning, identify new business opportunities, and forecast sales. Required to spend at least 21 days in the field each month.


Trade Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate on in-store promotions, oversee merchandising and product placement, and ensure brand guidelines are followed.


Market Insights & Competitor Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitor activities, provide insights to refine strategies, and analyze sales data to assess campaign effectiveness.


Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams (logistics, marketing, finance) to ensure smooth operations and coordinate with distributors for product availability.


Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance and provide strategic recommendations for growth.
