Job Description/Requirements

Reporting To: Sales and Marketing Supervisor


Position Summary:

To establish and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients on behalf of the company using digital resources in order to grow the company’s public awareness, market share and services.


Dimensions:

This is a professional/ specialist role and the post holder does not have direct reporting staff. 

The position interacts with the following customers/ clients/ patients/ etc.


External: human resources, wellness, occupational health, and health & safety staff and representatives at any company in the private business sector

Internal clients


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to planning and developing a digital marketing strategy as part of the company marketing strategy in order to maintain the content of the company website and intranet
  • Designs and maintains the company's current website including updating with current news, recent newsletters, CPD points, and how to locate a company laboratory. 
  • Assist with developing and maintenance of the microsite for company Cares campaigns to ensure its reach, interest, and accuracy to identified key audiences
  • Develops and maintains a Facebook page for the company and keeps it updated
  • Assists with Twitter when necessary to ensure relationship building at the continental level
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of the company Mobile applications for marketing purposes
  • Manages all social media platforms on behalf of the company and submits a report to management.
  • Assists in campaigns by providing digital support.
  • Acts as a back-up to the printing coordination for assistance
  • Brand building and positioning for targeted market segments.

DECISIONS AND JUDGEMENTS

The post holder, who should be able to work fairly independently, has full authority to make operational decisions on issues within broad guidelines/policy, except where such decisions have financial and/or corporate risk in which case the approval of the Business Development & Marketing Manager must be sought.

The post holder would typically take instructions from the Marketing Director/Marketing Manager or CEO on matters relating to strategic and team objectives, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.


The post holder generally operates within a set of rules and opening procedures and has limited decision-making authority. 


CHALLENGING DEMANDS OF THE JOB

  • Abnormal working hours and the need to be available/ accessible 24/7 to deal with customer complaints
  • Client liaison and maintaining a positive image of the organization to ensure retention and growth of customers
  • Dealing with irate/unreasonable customers, exposure to verbal aggression, and ability to manage crises and conflicts
  • To be vigilant and take timeous corrective action To be highly resilient and maintain a positive self-image


COMMUNICATIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS

  • The office mostly communicates with the following stakeholders:
  • Doctors
  • HOD
  • Pathologist 
  • Service providers
  • Staff in other depots\labs
  • The format of communication includes face-to-face and telephonic verbal communication, written reports, written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and e-mail interaction.


EDUCATION& QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A relevant diploma\degree in Marketing and with at least a certificate in I.T.
  • The medical qualification will be an added advantage.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 Yrs Relevant Working Experience in Marketing Field
