Job Description Post: Manager Information, Communication, and Technology ( ICT)Number of Vacancies: 01Salary Scale: UIBF3 5Nature of Employment: Contract Ref: UIBF/Apr.23/4Minimum Qualification:Applicants should be Ugandans holding:• An honors degree in Information Technology or computer science or computer engineering and other relevant courses from a recognized University• Postgraduate Degree in Information Systems or Business Administration or relevant management courses• Professional certification such as ITIL, MCSE, CCDP, or equivalent• Membership with an IT professional bodyMinimum Working Experience:Applicants should have a minimum of Six (6) years of work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory position in the field of ICT development and implementation gained from a reputable organizationKey Competencies:He/she should have the following Key competencies:IT infrastructure setting and Management, Computer networks, network administration, and network installation, Hardware Installation, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, IT security, Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange, Management and leadership skills, Multi-tasking and time-management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, Highly organized and detail-oriented, Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and Flexible working hours.Critical Work Functions For The Role:• Developing and implementing information and communications technology (ICT) strategy and making decisions about the ICT systems utilized in line with the Institute’s objectives and budget.• Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services• Monitor the performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure• Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes• Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the Institute to develop solutions for IT needs• Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software• Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively• Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.• Evaluating ICT risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures in line with the policies, guidelines, and the Law.• Managing the performance and development of supervisees.• Perform any other duties assigned NOTE:1.
