Location: Hybrid - Kampala, Uganda

The Challenge:

We're seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager to oversee and ensure the smooth operation of our injection molding, blow molding, and recycling plant operations. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker with extensive knowledge of blow and injection molding machines, coupled with strong managerial skills. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in mechanical engineering and a proven track record in managing maintenance at a strategic level within a large plant environment.

What the role involves:

• Operational Oversight: Supervise maintenance across injection molding, blow molding, and recycling operations, ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimizing downtime.
• Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement maintenance strategies and schedules that align with operational goals to enhance equipment reliability.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team, maintaining high standards of work, safety, and productivity.
• Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Address and resolve complex maintenance issues to ensure continuous and efficient plant operations.
• Preventive Maintenance: Establish and oversee a preventive maintenance program to reduce equipment failures and extend machinery lifespan.
• Budget Management: Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective practices and optimal resource allocation.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance procedures and overall plant efficiency.

Role Requirements:

• Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of managerial experience in maintenance within a large plant.
• Flexibility in years of experience is considered based on the candidate’s overall qualifications and expertise
• Relevant certifications in maintenance management or engineering are advantageous.
• Strong people management and persuasion skills.
• An analytical mind with strategic ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Must-Have(s):

• Background in Mechanical Engineering with plant experience is required
