IT Officer, College Of Natural Sciences

Manage the University’s online presence in coordination with the public relations office. And provide administrative and technical management of all facets of a principal university website, consisting of a comprehensive range of associated web pages.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any other related field specialization in web design;
  
• Honours Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any other related field with relevant hands on experience in web design and management;
  
• Relevant professional certification.
  

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing online presence of large organizations
  

• Implement the University’s web administrative related policies and procedures;
  
• Administer address assignment and access according to an approved plan and access policy;
  
• Design and manage primary University website in accordance with the university’s identity guidelines;
  
• Produce templates and designs of various Units web pages;
  
• Keep abreast of changes in social media and incorporate these within university systems;
  
• Ensure integrity of the University’s online presence through monitoring Web servers and their performance;
  
• Maintain records of who is ultimately responsible for website they host;
  
• Administer and monitor access levels including blocking unauthorized access;
  
• Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Supervisor.
