Job Title: Institutional Sales Officer

Location: Kampala, Uganda


Job Purpose

The Institutional Sales Officer will be responsible for driving B2B sales growth by targeting institutional clients, managing bidding processes, and securing contracts through strong commercial and procurement knowledge. This role requires a presentable and articulate professional who can build lasting client relationships and effectively represent the company in formal business environments.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

● Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with institutions such as NGOs, government bodies, schools, hospitals, and corporations.

● Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet and exceed B2B sales targets.

● Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and procurement officers.

Bidding & Proposal Management

● Prepare and submit competitive bids and tenders in line with institutional procurement procedures.

● Coordinate cross-functional inputs to ensure timely and compliant bid submissions.

● Follow up on submitted bids and provide necessary clarifications or documentation.

Client Engagement & Presentation

● Represent the company at client meetings, exhibitions, and networking events.

● Deliver impactful presentations and product/service demonstrations tailored to institutional needs.

● Provide after-sales support and maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Market & Procurement Insight

● Stay up to date with institutional procurement processes, industry pricing, and competitor activity.

● Monitor upcoming tenders and opportunities through portals, newspapers, and networks.

● Ensure compliance with both internal sales policies and external procurement regulations.



Requirements


● Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, or a related field.

● Minimum of 3-4years’ experience in B2B sales.

● Proven experience in tendering, bidding, and proposal writing.

Skills & Attributes

● Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

● Understanding of procurement systems and institutional buying processes.

● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

● Presentable and confident, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.

● Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
