Part of Volcafe Group, Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd is Uganda's oldest licensed Coffee Exporter, established in  1992. 

Kyagalanyi produces and exports green Robusta and Arabica (washed and natural) coffee from all major growing areas in Uganda, with the vision of making the coffee business better, together.

We have sustainable coffee schemes supporting farming households to increase production and improve quality, focusing as well on sustainability topics such as carbon assessment, landscaping, gender, coffee youth teams, child education, and many more. 

As Kyagalanyi, we also have our own roastery to promote high-quality Ugandan coffees in local and export markets. 


Job Title: HR Operations specialist ( Namanve & Masaka)  

Duty Station: Namanve, Kampala. 


Job Summary: 

The job holder will be responsible for the delivery of operational day to day duties and ensuring consistency and accuracy of HR processes, systems, and data. He/she will act as front-line support to the HR Manager in providing excellent services in the full spectrum of the organization. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Be the first point of contact to all employees’ queries on human resources and welfare matters and respond in a timely manner. 
  • Support in the design, implementation and delivery of HR initiatives that are aligned with the overall organization strategy. 
  • Lead in the collation and input of monthly required payroll information into the relevant payroll system and submit the payroll reports to the HR Manager for review and upward approvals. 
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues in line with the Disciplinary Code and Procedure. 
  • Support the HR Manager in leading to ensure that Staff Training Needs Assessments are carried out in line with the Training and Development plan as well as organizing staff training sessions and activities. 
  • Supporting the coordination of the staff performance evaluation process in line with the  Performance Management policy.
  • Responsible for the employee lifecycle HR operations including onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding processes while ensuring that employee data is accurately and promptly updated in HRMS and employee files. 
  • Administer the company leave policy. 
  • Own and manage process execution of work permits for all expatriates. 
  • Own and administer all insurance employee programs including medical, life, and personal accidents. 
  • Take part in all HR-related projects and assignments that arise from time to time.  
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time. 


Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: 

  • University Degree in Human Resources or similar professional qualification 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience in human resources in a busy environment. 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing payroll is desirable. 
  • Previous experience working with an international organization in a cross-cultural setting,  preferably in the HR sector is desirable. 
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving. 
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and explain employment law 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret numerical data and processes (HR Analytics) 
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality of HR information 
  • Organized and methodical and with good attention to detail 
  • Willingness and ability to work within a multi-site, international organization. 
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Excellent Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
