Job Description/Requirements
Duty Station: Kabale Municipality, Kabale District
GENERAL MANAGER
The General Manager (GM) shall be the Cooperative's main administrative officer and will oversee the day-to-day operations.
Reporting to: Board Chairman
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations.
- Design strategy and set goals for growth.
- Manage the overall operational budgeting and financial responsibilities of the cooperative.
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally.
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance.
- Direct the employee assessment process.
- Prepare and propose to the Board policies and policy changes, practices, and procedure manuals, and ensure their enforcement and periodic update.
- Prepare regular reports for the Board.
- Implement the Annual General Meeting decisions, as well as recommendations made by the Supervisory Committee, External auditors, and Registrar.
- Formulate strategies and direction to drive Key performance indicators like profitability, service delivery, and employee management among others.
Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting/finance, or related field
- Master's degree in business administration or management (Added Advantage)
- Professional qualification (Completed exams or as a finalist of CPA, CIMA, CIFA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
- 8 years of working experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role (preferably financial institution)
- Experience in Cooperative processes, products, and systems.
- Experience in dealing with different stakeholders at different levels both internal and external.
