Forklift Operator

Summary

Forklift operator will be responsible for operating and managing loading and unloading of items without damaging products within the company premises, maintaining the asset integrity and safety good practices

Main Responsibilities

Along with the below-listed responsibilities, the employee should conduct any other business related to the function as required by her or his supervisor.

• Loading, unloading, and receiving warehouse items.
• Transporting items to different locations within the facility.
• Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
• Securing loads to the machine before transportation.
• Inspecting for damages to the forklift.
• Scheduling forklift for maintenance and repairs.
• Operating and managing technical equipment.
• Identifying workplace safety hazards.
• Adhering to safety management standards.
• Adhering to warehouse and production operation schedules.
• Safety and security policies compliance
• To plan LPG consumption and supplying
• To propose improvement in his/her area

Experiences

• Valid certification to operate forklifts
• Excellent coordination
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial work environment
• Excellent physical condition and coordination
• Good organizational skill
• Ability to submit to health checks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Efficient individual with excellent time management skills

Skills

• Ability and skill to maneuver forklift freely.
• Knowledge of safety measures to be taken during the forklift operation
• Ability to handle light and heavy lifting with ease.
• Basic documenting skills and knowledge on warehouse inventory.
• Knowledge about related forklift equipment and their maintenance.

Required Languages

• English (Intermediate)
• Local Uganda Dialect (Advanced)

Required Education Minimum requirement of high school Diploma
