Tulima Solar (U) Company Limited invites applications from qualified Ugandans, below 35 years to fill the following vacancies. 


FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIANS: (02)Two vacancies exist in the Engineering Department for the position of “Field Service Technician”. The position requires the holder to deliver the desired customer service experience, helping clients to install, repair and maintain solar equipment. A few of the main duties of a field service technician are troubleshooting the equipment, advising the customer on how to use the equipment, building relationships with customers and following company procedures. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability. ReportingThe person in this position will be reporting to the Field Service Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities: 


You are responsible for a variety of mission critical areas that will give you exposure to all aspects of our operations and technology:


  • Carry out customer technical support (level 2) and support to our customer service team.

  • Carry out field service repairs, removals and installations, involving travel.

  • Testing and quality control of solar, battery and communications hardware received from manufacturer.

  • Assembly, soldering and production activities of products for testing and/or sale.

  • Product development support, including prototype hardware programming, measurement, testing and providing technical training when necessary.

  • Carry out installations and repair electrical and electronic equipment, aligning, assemble, test, maintain circuitry or electronic components and calibrating cables and wiring, monitoring and reporting on project progress.

  • Troubleshooting of hardware failures, determining root cause and potential fixes.

  • Contribute to the building of a safer work place by identifying and reporting any existing unsafe conditions, actions, practices and initiating, carrying out or participating in corrective action. 


Skills & Competences required:


Minimum Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or it’s equivalent, proven field service experience with technical support, ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment, working experience in a solar energy & irrigation company would be an additional advantage, minimum of two (2) years’ experience in digital circuitry and electronics, including measurement and assembly, and strong orientation to safe work practices. 

Remuneration: Salary and conditions will be commensurate with Company’s standard terms and conditions for the relevant position.
