Job Description/Requirements

Job Purpose: 

To ensure safe and timeous collection and delivery of goods and shuttle services as well as provide excellent customer service at all times.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all company fleet is in good working and running condition. 
  • Monitor fuel consumption across the company fleet and ensure monthly utilization is within acceptable monthly consumption levels. 
  • Oversee roll out and implementation of Logis-Online on all company fleets. 
  • Direct supervision of all transport department staff and coordinate with HR department for all transport staff recruitment and assessment of their efficiency and delivery.
  • Ensure all motor vehicles and bikes have valid Licenses.
  • Checks and attends to the day-to-day transport requests.
  • Manages couriers and routes
  • Prepares driver schedules based on transport requests.
  • Checks and attends to transport-related issues such as fuel and mechanical requests that are brought forth by the supervisor, couriers, and drivers in relation to operations to ensure the smooth running of the fleet.
  • Checks tasks for delivery and collections and allocates relevant personnel on a daily basis.
  • Monitoring transport and fuel costs to ensure there is no misuse.
  • Liaise with external parties in regard to servicing of vehicles, repairs, and parts as well as maintenance of the vehicle.
  • Ensures couriers and drivers are able to locate destinations through physical maps and google maps for directions, through Logis- Online courier sample tracking systems.
  • Sits in recruitment interviews for couriers and drivers.
  • Motivate, train, coach, and support new existing employees.
  • Ensures all stocks and shipments is dropped off with the shipping companies for dispatch to sites as per request from the materials management department.
  • Submits written reports to the general manager on a daily basis and any other information vital to the organization and relates to business.


Person Specification:

  • Valid Driver’s License. Class ‘A’
  • O’ & A’ Level Certificate.
  • Tertiary training is an added advantage
  • 2- 3 years of relevant experience in administration.
