Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for managing cash and credit transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. This role involves handling the saloon’s financial transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining an organized and friendly environment at the counter. The cashier will also assist in managing stock, maintaining cleanliness at the cash counter, and performing other related tasks as necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process Payments: Handle customer payments for food, beverages, and services, ensuring accurate cash handling and credit card transactions.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer queries, and provide information about menu items, promotions, and pricing.
  • Maintain Records: Keep track of sales, issue receipts, and ensure all financial transactions are logged accurately.
  • Stock Monitoring: Keep an eye on inventory levels for items sold at the counter, like snacks or beverages, and report stock shortages to management.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure the cashier counter is clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies like receipt paper, pens, and any promotional materials.
  • Assistance with Promotions: Inform customers about ongoing promotions, discounts, or loyalty programs that may be available.
  • Security and Compliance: Follow all cash handling policies and procedures to protect company assets and minimize losses.
  • End-of-Day Balancing: Reconcile cash drawers, ensure accuracy in records, and prepare daily cash reports as needed.


Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, customer service orientation, and ability to handle cash responsibly.
  • Personality Traits: Friendly, patient, organized, and reliable.
