Overview Through funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Jhpiego is implementing the project, ‘Enhancing Global Health Security: Expanding Efforts and Strategies to Protect and Improve Public Health Globally’. This award builds on ongoing CDC funded investments to support the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) through implementation of programs focused on protecting and improving health globally. Through this grant, Jhpiego will support Uganda to strengthen surveillance data management by creating a centralized data warehousing, conducting analysis and visualization at designated national and sub-national levels, developing policies, procedures and relevant MoUs for surveillance systems integration, and implementing targeted capacity building to data end-users on how to think about data.At the end of the project life, CDC and MOH expect centrally available timely data for public health action, improved data access and exchange between systems across the country and a resilient data-intelligent workforce.Position PurposeThe Business Analyst is a leading professional who is expected to deliver new insight and lasting business value by leveraging the many systems, analytics and business opportunities offered by cutting edge technology. The incumbent contributes to end-to-end integration and proactively manages updates from a business transformation leadership perspective, utilizing skills and knowledge of the relevant area.This is a contract position and is renewable annually based on availability of funding and scope of work. Responsibilities Work closely with stakeholders to define and document business and technical requirements.Analyze, visualize, and interpret business data to evaluate key businesses operations and processes, identifying areas for improvement in line with user needs and stakeholder priorities.Develop reports and other information products to present analysis that supports decision-making, strategy, and routine business operationsKnowledge transfer – Systems training and knowledge transfer supportWork with end users to iterate on reports, outputs, and data system configuration to ensure that data solutions continue to meet evolving business requirements.Make recommendations on ways to improve systems by studying current practices and designing any modifications. Develop documentation related to business processes, including data models and processes. Systems quality assurance and testing - develop and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, end-user test plans and other QA assessments (Unit, Integration, Performance, Stress and UAT) with the use of available technologies.Support staff on change control, systems update, and Data migration, verification, and validation.Review, analyze, and create detailed documentation of business processes and user needs, including workflow, Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures. Developing and documenting User Adoption Strategies and supporting the business in change management of systems and process changes.Support staff on change control, systems update, and Data migration, verification, and validation. Defining system controls and collaborating for risk identification and mitigation Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business administration discipline, or a suitable combination of a degree with Business Analysis training field from a recognized university.Specialized training and certification in Business Analysis profession (CBAP)Experience and skillsMinimum 4 years of relevant experience at the professional level as a business analyst or project manager international organizations, public or private sectors, of which at least 3 years should be in an international capacity directly relevant to the functions of this position.Documented relevant work experience as a business or systems analyst.
