Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Developer with expertise in JavaScript frameworks to join our dynamic team. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable web applications that delight our users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and architect scalable backend solutions that meet business objectives.
• Design, Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using modern JavaScript frameworks Node.js, and Express.js.
• Design and optimise database schemas and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval, leveraging technologies like PostgreSQL, or Redis.
• Integrate with third-party APIs and services to extend the functionality of our applications and enhance user experience.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to architectural discussions to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in backend development, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance our technology stack and development processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, with a strong focus on JavaScript frameworks.
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript framework for backend development Node.js and Express.js including knowledge of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
• Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTTP, RESTful APIs, and JSON.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and ORM libraries most especially Sequelize.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
• Experience with AWS is a plus. I.e  EC2, RDS, S3 and cloudwatch
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Passion for technology and a desire to continuously learn and grow in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts is a plus .
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong online presence are a plus.
