Job Title: Asst Underwriter / Motor Third-party Clerk
Reports To: Assistant Underwriting Manager
The role holder will be responsible for sticker management and other roles/duties assigned in accordance with laid down underwriting procedures in the company and ensure effective and efficient service delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring of Motor third party & COMESA stickers stock to ensure there’s always enough supply to meet the customer demands
- Issuing & printing of stickers as and when instructions come through from various customers accurately with minimal / no errors after payment has been made and a Sticker Reference Number generated
- Monitoring and analyzing of the Motor third party tracker to ensure that all stickers purchased by the company are accounted for at anyone point
- Daily upload of issued Motor third-party stickers to the UIA payments portal and forwarding the same to the finance department to initiate payment.
- Raising and following up of payment requisitions replenishing sticker stock (Both the MTP & COMESA stickers)
- Preparation of COMESA returns reports for Uganda Re and ensure the company’s contribution to the scheme is effectively remitted
- Preparing policy documents, debit & credit notes & endorsements and authorizing them within authority limits
- Ensuring premiums are settled as per company policy.
- Maintain high standard level of customer service - responding to general underwriting enquiries (walk-in clients, telephone and emails)
- Liaise with intermediaries and direct clients on issues relating to their policies
- Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments’ strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal Scorecard.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Working Relationships
Internal Relationships:
- Accountable to the Assistant Underwriting Manager (Or any designated Manager)
- Required to liaise and work closely with the other departments as may be necessary
External Relationships:
- Goldstar customers
- Insurance sector players
