Associate TMT/IP, Sustainability (Carbon Markets)

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Associate specializing in TMT/IP and Sustainability (Carbon Markets). The role is based in Kampala, with possibilty for remote work (down the line). The Associate will be responsible for tasks related to TMT, IP, and Carbon Markets on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications

• Skills and passion for Intellectual Property Law
• Skills and passion for Technology Law (AI & other emerging areas), Media Law, Telecoms Law and Sustainabilty
• Expertise/knowledge in Patent advisory
• Knowledge of Trademarks
• Expertise/Knowledge in Data Protection, Cyber security, SAAS, Software Contracting and general Technology Law
• Expertise/knowledge in Telecoms
• Knowledge of Carbon Markets & wider ESG compliance
• Strong interest and knowldge in policy work (including public interest litigation, policy advocacy, law reviews etc)
• Strong interest in events and thought leadership
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience in sustainability and carbon markets is a plus
• Law degree from a recognized institution
• Master of Laws with a bias in TMT/IP, Sustainability will be added advantage
