Job Description/Requirements
Manage day-to-day operations of the Directorate by carrying out administrative functions and providing clerical support to the legal team.
Requirements
- Diploma in Legal Practice – Law Development Centre;
- An honour’s Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution;
- Enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court with a valid Practicing Certificate.
- Assist in the conduct of legal-related research;
- Participate in compiling relevant recorded cases in courts of law;
- Assist in filing Court documents;
- Represent the Directorate in Evaluation Committee meetings and Bid openings;
- Draft Memoranda, Articles of Association and floating Companies;
- Assist in following up with Court matters, fix cases for hearing and keep the
- Legal Officers updated of their schedules;
- Assist in identifying Law reports, Legislation, Books and other reading materials for the Legal Unit Library;
- Keep records of all Council Policies, Statutes, Rules and Regulations;
- Assist in interviewing and collecting information necessary to draft pleadings;
- Liaise with External Lawyers, University Secretary and Legal Office on legal matters;
- Update Legal Officers on cases in Court;
- Liaise with external lawyers and University Legal Officers on pending cases and Court matters;
- Provide clerical service to the Staff Tribunal;
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
