Aspire Launchpad Business Mentor (Gulu or Nimule)

Sinapis is a Christian social enterprise that provides early-stage entrepreneurs with advanced business training integrated with Kingdom Business principles, mentorship, consultancy and access to seed funding. Sinapis runs two core products: the Sinapis Entrepreneur Academy (for growth-stage businesses) and the Sinapis Aspire Launchpad (for early or idea-stage businesses).

Sinapis is looking for part-time mentors for its Aspire Launchpad program participants. The Aspire Launchpad training takes the form of a 9-week program. The mentorship support is part of the learning experience and will involve at least 6 sessions of at least two hours each. Together, the mentor and mentee will agree on the goals of the mentorship experience and participate in a mix of virtual/in-person sessions.

Locations: Gulu, Uganda or Nimule, South Sudan (applicants who live close to these two towns in Northern Uganda or South Sudan are also encouraged to apply)

Employment type: Contracted

Remuneration: USD 30 per 2-hour session

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Through one-on-one meetings, engage with idea- to early-stage businesses in the Aspire Launchpad program to assess their businesses and identify areas of need/support
• Provide constructive feedback on business plans, pitch presentations, and other deliverables
• Facilitate connections to relevant industry contacts, potential capital opportunities, and business networks
• Occasionally participate in group training sessions or workshops as a guest speaker
• Develop and submit a tailored mentorship plan for each assigned business
• Provide biweekly progress reports including milestones achieved, challenges, and recommendations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Sinapis business mentors are individuals who have:

1. Success/experience running a business for 3+ years
2. Strong background in supporting early-stage entrepreneurs
3. Passion for entrepreneurship and a willingness to dedicate time to the growth of idea and early-stage ventures
4. Mentors should be based in Northern Uganda or South Sudan
