The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. GEMS teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia and in the US. GEMS manages the B2B supply business within ENGIE, including supply contracts and Power Purchase Agreements. The Algorithmic Trading Manager (Trader) develops the data framework, tools and processes necessary implement data driven trading strategies. This position is located in Houston, TX and reports to Vice President, Gas Origination and Trading. What you’ll do: Responsibilities Gather and organize data Implement data driven prop trading strategies to arbitrage Real Time prices vs Day Ahead prices : on ERCOT and PJM. Extend framework to other power US markets and to the term maturities for value trading purpose. Develop automation for trade execution in power markets : internal netting (IMP), order book management, proxy hedging Extend above infrastructure and objectives to US Natural Gas markets Extend beyond automatic trading by developing market services for the benefits of customers (physical and financial) KPI’s P&L generated on prop trading automatic trading strategies Level of trade robotization Implementation of a replicable data infrastructure to support algo trading Implementation of an Internal Market Place leading to automatic market execution What you bring: Bachelor or Master’s degree in relevant area (Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, …) preferred A minimum of five years of experience in similar or related role Strong Computer Science and Code Development skills Strong Data Science skills Statistical methods for analyzing data. Highly analytical thinker and understanding of probability and risks Machine learning methods (supervised/unsupervised) Proficiency in Matrix based computer language ((R, Matlab) Proficiency in relational databases (SQL, Python) Must enjoy problem solving and creating trading opportunities Clear and effective communicator. Willingness to engage in dialogue and debate with colleagues Can work autonomously and be flexible Proficiency in Excel, SQL or VBA a plus.
