Job Description Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced VMware Administrator with a strong problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail. The role requires being on call 24/7 and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as a VMware Administrator.Required Technical & Professional Expertise:• Proficiency in server hardware, networking, and firewall installation.• Experience working with VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter, and associated tools.• Ability to design, deploy, configure, manage, and upgrade VMware infrastructure, including storage.• Expertise in troubleshooting issues related to VMware server infrastructure.• Experience with migrating ESXi hosts and virtual machines within HA clusters, including proficiency with vMotion.• Capability to generate capacity and performance reports for clusters, hosts, storage, and virtual machines.• Perform maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, performance tuning, break-fix, health checks, and troubleshooting in a vSphere 6.x environment.• Creation and management of storage, user accounts, and security within VMware.• Proficiency in scripting ESX Server deployments for remote installations and security in a virtualized VMware environment.• In-depth knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.• Experience with Windows Server Administration and Active Directory.• Ability to implement best practices and adhere to standards.• Capability to mentor and train other team members in VMware administration.• Strong documentation skills for systems and solutions.Education and/or Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.• VMware certifications such as VCP (vSphere) and/or VCAP are preferred. Ms Office: A candidate for this position must be proficient in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint, Analytical Skills: A candidate for this position must be capable of gathering and interpreting raw information and data, documenting findings, and drawing appropriate recommendations. Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be a helpful, calm and professional individual, have strong time management skills.
