Accounts Assistant

The position will be based in Mbale and report directly to the Senior Accountant.

Your responsibilities

• Providing support to the Finance Department.
• Prepare for authorization, payment requisitions, and payment vouchers.
• Handling petty cash. 
• Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers. 
• Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly statutory returns. Eg VAT, Withholding tax, and P.A.Y.E.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation for all the accounts.
• Ensure that all receipts are banked on the same day or at the earliest time possible.
• Data entry in Sun Systems.
• Assist with monthly stock take and stock reconciliations.
• Perform other tasks, such as filing, and offloading coffee.

Your profile

• Fluent in English and Luganda. 
• Experience in Ugandan Coffee procurement is an asset.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree. 
• Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
• Must have impeccable character and integrity. 
• Must have an eye for details. 
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and beyond working hours. 
• Ability to work under minimum supervision. 
• Willingness to learn and further their qualifications. 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
