Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing the company’s monthly financial statements/Management Accounts and provide analytical commentary on performance-based efficiencies and margins.
  • Analyzing the Actual performances based on Unit costs, ASP, Volumes  against the budget & forecasts and paint an outlook of the area that need urgent attention by Management.
  • Responsible for managing the daily cash flows and allocate to approved critical suppliers & internal payments, directly monitors the banking transactions and is directly in contact with the bank.
  • Ensuring all statutory obligations (PAYE, VAT, WHT, and NSSF) and annual income taxes and provisions are filed and paid for in time.
  • Review all transactions to make sure they are properly approved as per internal accounting best practices.
  • Provide financial review for purchase requests, quotation analysis, purchase orders, expense reports & payment requisition.
  • Coordinate and prepare weekly and monthly cash requirement for all departments, submit and make sure sufficient cash is available and monitor its use.
  • Make sure surprise, weekly and monthly cash counts are being made and documented for all petty cash as per the current company policy. 
  • Make sure all cash, bank and advances are reconciled with cash counts, bank statements and outstanding advances and the General ledger.
  • Maintain all fixed asset registers, posting monthly depreciation, managed the leases and ensure all insurance policies are up-to-date.
  • Provide planned technical support, backstopping, coaching and training to all finance staff.
  • Directly supervise all Accounts Assistants and make sure all deliver all required performances as per the deadlines.
  • Managing the Receivables & Payables, performing regular reconciliations, investigating any irregularities noted, and resolving in consultation with the Finance Manager, Sales Manager, and externally with customers & Suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with Ugandan and standard accounting practice.
  • Ensure data security of all finance data by regular monthly back-up for all staff.
  • Review and track all purchases and contracts and other commitments for Rapid Kate Services (U) Ltd.
  • Create Debtors & Suppliers accounts, accounts code, and ensure accounts are not duplicated.
  • Participate/Guide in the preparation of the budget with all departments and ensure they are detailed as possible.
  • Implement and maintain proper document archiving systems that promote easy access to documents whenever needed.
  • Ensure the company receives payments from debtors within the timeline.
  • Manage all intercompany transactions and ensure accurate closing balances monthly and properly revalued.
  • Act as a contact point for all external audit queries during the interim   & final annual audits.
  • Assist other finance functions and offices whenever need arises and         other tasks to be assigned by the supervisor
  • Perform any other duties that may be required by management.
  • Attendance & Payroll preparation.
  • Handle URA audit & Query.
  • Online payment preparation
  • Training down staff in account department.
  • Bank reconciliation daily basis


Requirements and Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or any other related field.
  • Professional qualifications CPA or ACCA are a distinct advantage.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel & PowerPoint and related data analysis tools. 
  • At least 4 years experience in a similar role from a reputable company directly involved in Financial Reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead, supervise and monitor teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and demonstrate integrity, independent thinking, sound judgment, and respect for others.
  • Proven capability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbal, with people at all levels in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
