office in Uganda, Kampala, Cordaid is looking for a: Shelter Officer for
4 months, renewable (Open to Ugandan nationals only)
Position and responsibility
To manage and
supervise the Shelter component of Cordaid’s Humanitarian Program in West Nile,
the construction of Shelters in refugee settlements, particularly Refugees
with Special Needs.
and train refugees to participate in the construction work
quality is of highest standard while following the set guidelines from
strictly the agreed designs by the cluster lead
close monitoring and the supervision of the construction work
in field assessments
the internal reporting rules
other duties as assigned
Higher diploma in
Civil Engineering or related discipline
Experience in the
Shelter sector is preferred
working in a refugee setting and with refugees is an added advantage
working for NGOs
others on masonry work and supervising construction work
Ability to follow
Fluent in English
both verbally and in writing
